Preventative Health Made Simple

Hello fellow readers,

As we all know the saying " An apple a day keeps the doctor away". There is truth to that. Eating fruits, vegetables and whole grains everyday is the basics for preventing disease. Most people are not aware of the things that are going into their bodies from foods they eat. This is one of the reasons why so many people are suffering from diseases that are preventable. Like:

* Stroke

* Diabetes

* Cancer

* Heart disease

Just to name a few.

People Are Destroyed For The Lack Of Knowledge.

The US government spends billions of dollars to find cures for diseases. Their conclusion is that, disease is easier to prevent than it is to cure. The National Institute of Health recommends we eat 7 to 13 servings of fresh raw fruits and vegetables everyday. But almost no one does. Eating the recommended amount ( 7 - 13 servings) of fruits and vegetables everyday helps lower elevated levels of the amino acid, homocysteine. Which has been associated with heart attack, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and birth defects.

Statistics show that: 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will have cancer in his or her lifetime. (The American Cancer Association)

80 million people have some form of heart disease. (The American Heart Association)

Over 20 million children and adults have diabetes. ( The American Diabetes Association)

7% of school age children are diagnosed with ADHD. ( Center for Disease Control and Prevention)

The Benefits Of Fruits, Vegetables And Whole Grains Is In The Variety

Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables supply our body with different vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and extracts. (which only comes from food. If it doesn't, it's synthetic). Certain fruits and vegetables have different benefits. Here are a few:

Apple: Pectin along with a variety of polyphenols and other antioxidants

Acerola Cherry: Vitamin C and anthocyanadins

Cranberry: Flavonoid and phenolic antioxidants

Orange: Vitamin C, folate, and several carotenoids including beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin

Papaya: Vitamin C, potassium, and several carotenoids including beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin

Peach: Vitamin C and several carotenoids

Pineapple: Vitamin C and bromelain

Tomato: Vitamin C, polyphenols, and several carotenoids including lycopene

Oat Bran: Dietary fiber, vitamin E, several B vitamins, and minerals

Beet: Folate, iron and calcium

Broccoli: Folate, vitamin C, and several carotenoids including beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, and glucosinolates

Cabbage: Vitamin C, folate, and glucosinolates

Carrot: Several carotenoids including beta-carotene, along with vitamin E

Kale: Vitamin C, folate, magnesium, and several carotenoids including beta carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin

Parsley: Vitamin C, folate, several carotenoids and flavonols

Spinach: Folate, vitamin C, vitamin E, several carotenoids, iron, and calcium

Brown Rice Bran: Dietary fiber, several B vitamins, and minerals

This Is What People Resort To

Many people can't or don't eat the recommended amount of 7-13 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday, so they turn to vitamin and multi vitamin supplements to offset the low levels of fruits and vegetables that they consume. The NCI (National Institute of Health) says that Americans spend over $20 billion a year on vitamin and mineral supplements, but there is little evidence that suggest any real benefit between taking vitamins and preventing chronic diseases.

Fruits and vegetables are the natural proven way to give the body what it needs to function properly and prevent disease. Only 10% of adults and 5% of children in America are eating the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables everyday. But for those of us that are unable, due to any circumstances.

There is a simple and inexpensive way to get more fruits, vegetables and whole grains into your diet and for your children to get it Free.
